DoubleDrift is the perfect venue for school and group retreats that focus on environmental education. Just over one and one half hours from East London, we are easily accessible. We have facilities for your classes as well as accommodation and activities for all participants. We are committed to protecting the environment and believe that by teaching tomorrows leaders about the environment early, we are helping to protect the environment well into the future.
A conference room is located at the Charles Tinley Complex that can be used for classes. With prior arrangement, a TV, VCR, overhead projector, an easel and markers are available. Tea and other refreshments can also be provided. If you have any special needs, please call our reservations office to inquire, as we are very flexible in our operations.
At the DoubleDrift lodge we have constructed special facilities for school groups. There are five (?) rooms outfitted with bunk beds. Thirty-two (?) students can be accommodated. The rooms are sparsely decorated but the nature experience promises to be very enjoyable for all the kids.
Between classes and workshops, daily activities such as game viewing and fishing provide entertainment for everyone. Please refer to our Activities List for a detailed guide. The park is home to rhino, elephant, giraffe, hippo, kudu and many other species of animals, many of which can be viewed by one-day visitors. . A complete list of DoubleDrifts wildlife is available in the Animal Checklist.
The staff of DoubleDrift are working hard to protect the resources of our environment by promoting the sustainable utilization of it by visitors. Our operations also provide much needed economic uplift to the local community. Please consider coming to DoubleDrift for a school retreat and lesson on the environment. We are confident that your stay will be enjoyable.
